Chris Vagnoni, M.D. 

Regional Medical Director

Dr. Chris Vagnoni has been delivering high-quality, patient-centered care as a hospitalist since 2004. He joined IN Compass Health in 2013, serving as a hospitalist at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC, before taking on the role of Program Medical Director in 2017. In addition to leading the AnMed Health hospitalist program, Dr. Vagnoni currently serves as Regional Medical Director.

Before his tenure with IN Compass Health, Dr. Vagnoni worked as a hospital pharmacist at Monongahela Valley Hospital, a hospitalist at UPMC Western Maryland, and was president of an internal medicine group in West Virginia.

Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Vagnoni holds a medical degree from the Sydney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, a pharmacy degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, and a Master’s in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He completed his medical training with a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at West Virginia University. He currently serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina.

His extensive medical expertise, combined with his exemplary leadership skills, fuels his passion for working with medical teams to improve community health and deliver compassionate care. Outside of medicine, Dr. Vagnoni and his wife have four children and are avid followers of Clemson University football and enthusiastic supporters of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
