Hospitalist Fellowship Program
01.06.11In Compass Health and Texas Tech Team Up
IN Compass Health Inc. (ICH)
in collaboration with The Texas Tech University Department of Family & Community Medicine are offering a one
year fellowship with 2 positions for either a family medicine or
internal medicine graduate interested in pursing a career as a
hospitalist. ICH is comprised of nine hospitalist physicians who care
for over 30% of the inpatient population of Medical Center Hospital, a
362 bed regional teaching hospital. All members of ICH are actively
involved in hospital processes including: leadership, quality, guideline
development and implementation, patient safety, medical education,
palliative care and information technology. Dr. Manuel Estrada
will
serve as the Fellowship Program Director and is actively involved in
the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), including Physician Champion of
the BOOST (Better Outcomes for Older Adults and Safe Transition) Project

teachers and will be involved throughout the year in educating the
hospitalist fellows. The field of hospital medicine is well-established

supply. With the additional intense inpatient training, this fellowship
will educate our graduates in a teaching hospital setting to prepare
